An information classification framework to support effective emergency data dissemination in VANETs with the aid of RSUs

摘要

Fast delivery of data is prerequisite for transmitting emergency information in vehicular ad hoc netowrks (VANETs), considering its major application in the safety region of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS). However, two major challenges have to be addressed: the connectivity and reactivity of the communication systems. In this paper, an information classification framework is presented based on the service level agreement (SLA) that was signed by each mobile station whenever it connected to the network. The information classification framework also contains the connectivity improvement methods in VANETs from our previously presented work. Therefore, the fast distribution of information can be achieved based on the improved network connectivity in VANETs with the aid of road side units (RSUs). Nontrivial computer simulations are finally conducted to evaluate the correctness and efficiency of the proposed methods.
