MATPLOT: A MATLAB standalone application for geochemical data analysis and plotting

In geochemical and petrological studies, geochemical diagrams are commonly used. However, currently used softwares more or less have some disadvantages or inconveniences. This study introduces a new geochemical data plotting software, MATPLOT, which was developed with MATLAB. MATPLOT can run on multiple operation systems, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux. Compared to currently used softwares, MATPLOT has many advantages: large amount data within different data files can be imported into MATPLOT, and it does not require uniform format of data; six kinds of data diagrams can be generated quickly, including binary scatter, triangle diagram, normalized line chart, histogram, probability density and isotope evolution diagrams. After plot, it is easy to adjust the axis and data series appearances. Additionally, MATPLOT can calculate the data average (common average, Tukey's biweight weighted average and error. weighted weighted average), and estimate several kind of data correlations
