摘要
A novel 30-kW-class continuous wave (CW) portable water load is investigated in this paper. The Ka-band structure design and simulation including the field analysis of the output mode are carried out firstly for better high-frequency characteristics. Then the thermal effects for large power operations are analyzed through 3D simulation software. The components are fabricated, assembled, and tested successively. It is shown that the power capacity is larger than 30 kW and the measurement accuracy is acceptable according to the large power test results. Moreover, the volume and weight are both greatly reduced. These advantages make the water load investigated in this paper much suitable for application with gyrotron and tests of some other large power millimeter-wave devices.
