摘要
Because the name Potamogeton x babingtonii has been synonymised with P. x angustifolius, no valid binominal exists for the hybrid P. lucens x praelongus. A morphological and anatomical study presented here demonstrates that specimens regarded by Hagstrom as Potamogeton x babingtonii f. danicus really represent the hybrid between P. lucens and P. praelongus. As a consequence, a new binominal for this hybrid is introduced and its basionym Potamogeton x babingtonii f. danicus is lectotypified. Morphological and anatomical characters of Potamogeton x jutlandicus nom. nov. (= P. lucens x praelongus) are provided and its taxonomic delimitation is discussed.
