摘要

Dual-motor dual-screw configuration can improve the stiffness of the machine tool feed system, however, the transmission gap of the screw degrades the tracking precision of the feed movement. To deal with the problem caused by the screw transmission gap, the mathematical model of the feed system was established; a torque allocation strategy for the dual-motors was given as follows: two motors drive together for the large torque reference, while, for the small torque reference, one motor was used as the dirve motor to provide the drive torque, and the other motor was used as the backlash cancellation motor to provide backlash cancellation torque. The difference of the parameters of two motors and corresponding drive systems causes the synchronization error of the speed even though the torque references are the same. To eliminate the synchronizaiton error, the speed difference feedback control method was used to achieve speed synchronous of two motors. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
