摘要

The converter of multi-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) requires both less switch devices and independence between phases for low-cost and high-efficiency. To achieve the above requirements, a novel N+2 power converter is employed in this paper. New converter topology combines the advantages of both asymmetric half bridge converter and split phase converter. In the base of the split phase converter, two switches are connected to the midpoint to replace midpoint capacitances and PWM control was adopted to adjust the mid-point voltage. The current stress of midpoint switches is far less than phase switch, and the voltage stress is equal to DC bus voltage. In this paper, a 24/20 six-phase external roto SRM was used as the application object. The performance comparisons with other kinds of converters were also carried on when work in the rated point.
