摘要

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is widely used for atomic emission spectroscopy. The delay time is a significant factor that affects the selection of the optimal plasma conditions. In this study, a miniature digital delay generator was designed and built for time-resolved LIBS with a widely adjustable time delay with 0.1ns resolution. Experimental observations were used to examine and perform a diagnosis study of the delay time accuracy and a series of time-resolved LIBS spectra with satisfactory signal-to-noise ratios were obtained. Therefore, this delay generator is suitable for replacing the widely used delay generators in LIBS instrumentation and may have widespread application in portable instrumentation.
