摘要

Deformation reinforcerhent theory is used to analyze the cracking problem of dam heel. By applying this theory the relationships among reinforcement force, self-bearing force, load, stability and deformation of structure can be revealed. Under the action of a given load the area where unbalanced force area existed is the location of initial failure occurred. The reinforcement force to restrain the failure must be in the opposite direction of the unbalanced force. It may conclude that the dam heel is the concentrated area of unbalanced force, so that the analysis on distribution and direction of unbalanced force is helpful to clarify the cracking mode of dam heel and the magnitude of this force can be regarded as the assessment index of cracking.
