摘要
Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) shows osteoarticular manifestations. However, it is rare that it shows symptoms of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).
Clinical case: We present the case of a child with ALL initially misdiagnosed as JIA. The child had persistent articular pain and swelling despite treatment. Six months later, comprehensive blood count revealed leukopenia and neutropenia with lymphocytosis. Bone marrow aspirate confirmed pre-B ALL with hypodiploidy.
Conclusion: This case initially showed typical signs of arthritis. Diagnosis of ALL was ruled out because of the absence of clinical features and hematologic alterations characterizing this hematological neoplasm.
