A universal knowledge-network model for customizing the products

As the important approach for mass customization, product configuration has to deal with more and more knowledge with multiple types. A universal knowledge-network model is brought forward to help to find the appropriate knowledge rapidly during the process of product configuration. Meta model of product configuration knowledge, product configuration model based on knowledge and synergism model for building and using knowledge by different clients have been designed successively in this paper. And Product Configuration Knowledge Model (PCKM) planned the models as a whole. A software system based on the theory of PCKM was developed and has been used in a manufacturing enterprise for one year. It helps obtaining a half lead time for the product of wheel loader than before.
