This article presents and discusses new data and guidelines in endocrinology.
The article deals in particular with the diagnosis and treatment of subclinical/latent hypothyroidism; new developments regarding the thyroid gland and pregnancy; recommendations on the evaluation and diagnosis of thyroid nodules; a new guideline on adrenal gland neoplasms; the diagnosis and treatment of primary hyperaldosteronism; a new guideline on the treatment of adrenocortical insufficiency; new drugs to treat osteoporosis; as well as recommendations on the prevention of osteonecrosis of the jaw when using bisphosphonates or denosumab.
Practical recommendations have been formulated for each of the above-mentioned topics.
