摘要

Resistance heating is a rapid consolidation method in which the densification of the specimen is enhanced by the mechanical pressure and resistance heating of the punch/die assembly. Therefore, the graphite punches, die and specimen where high electric current transmit within seconds serve as heating elements by Joule heating. The objective of the present research was to predict the densification during the resistance heating based on the pressure-assisted master sintering surface, which was constructed by conventional hot pressing. Using this surface, the final density of the resistance heating can be predicted to about +/- 1% accuracy for a fixed pressure and arbitrary temperature-time path.
