摘要
Ni-W induced codeposition was investigated by intensity modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS), using an ammonia free citrate-boric acid electrolyte, to detect photoactive adsorbed intermediates that have been proposed in literature. The IMPS spectra were generated for different applied potentials. A significant current response to the incident modulated UV light was observed under conditions where steady state Ni-W codeposition occurred. The results confirm the presence of photoactive intermediates during codeposition, and demonstrate the novel use of IMPS in alloy electrodeposition onto metallic substrates.
