摘要

Forced atomic mixing of Nb-Ag immiscible alloys under severe plastic deformation (SPD) were investigated by high energy ball milling of mixed elemental powders over a wide range of concentrations. The results show that SPD in these highly immiscible alloys can result in the formation of supersaturated nanocrystalline solid solutions. The maximum solubility of Ag in Nb reaches up to 40-50 at.% but Nb in Ag is limited to less than 10 at.%. The steady state lattice parameters of the obtained Nb-rich phases show an inverse trend to Vegard's law.
