摘要
Biogenic spherical microparticles consisting of iron(II) phosphate nanosheets produced by iron-reducing bacteria were investigated for application in lithium-ion batteries. We synthesized microbially derived lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) with a hierarchical morphology including a high specific surface area (>30 m(2) g(-1)) from the biogenic iron(II) phosphate by a hydrothermal reaction. The biogenic iron(II) phosphate and the microbially derived LiFePO4 showed reversible charge-discharge performance as anodes and cathodes of lithium-ion batteries, respectively.
