A new practical inorganic phosphate adhesive applied under both air and argon atmosphere

摘要

A new practical phosphate adhesive was prepared based on aluminum and phosphate as matrix and SiO2 and B4C as additives, which can be applied to join oxide and non-oxide ceramics under air and argon atmospheres. After being cured at room temperature, the as-received joints do not need subsequent processing and can keep stable shear strength within the whole heat treatment process. Its bonding effect for mullite under air was better than that for SiC under argon. The shear strength of mullite joints could be up to 14.5 MPa after treatment at 1300 degrees C, while that of SiC joints was about 9 MPa.
