摘要

The casing treatment can effectively extend the operating stability of centrifugal compressor. The casing treatments in the impeller have been commonly studied, but there is little research on the casing treatment in the diffuser. A new type casing treatment called skewed grooves is presented in the paper and applied to the diffuser. Its effect on extending the operating range and the mechanism are investigated by the numerical and experimental methods. The results show that, the casing treatment in the diffuser increases the stall margin of compressor by 8.1% though at the cost of the efficiency sacrifice of 1.35%. The operating range's extension is mainly attributed to the improvement of the flow near the leading and trailing edges of the diffuser blade.
