摘要

In this paper, the optical technology is used to monitor ESDD near insulators on transmission line. This technique is based on the light energy loss and the distribution of optical field in the dielectric waveguide. Under the same measure environment, there has the certain correlation between the ESDDs of the polluted insulators and the ones of the quartz glass rod. Based on the experimental results, artificial neural networks (ANN) has been developed to model the relationships between ESDD by the optical technology and the measured ones. The contrasts reveal that the ANN-calculated ESDDs have the same corresponding with the measured ones for a practical system.
