摘要

Handmade wax printing is typically time consuming and environmentally disastrous. Simulation of wax printing patterns by computers and production of the simulated patterns by inkjet printing are the goal of designers and industry. Crack simulation of wax-printed patterns is one of the difficulties that designers might encounter in the process of making digitalized wax printing pattern. This paper proposed an improved Voronoi diagram to simulate the cracks in wax-printed patterns based on Distance Transformation (DT). The results indicate that this algorithm can generate authentic crack effects comparable with the handmade wax printing pattern. Compared with patterns generated by the DT alone, this improved algorithm has better simulation effects with features of real wax cracks. The inkjet-printed result shows that the simulated patterns have a more vivid effect, which exhibits an industrial prospect using inkjet printing technology to produce simulated crack patterns.
