摘要

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections of the anogenital skin and mucosa cause condylomas and intraepithelial neoplasia, which may progress to invasive cancer. HPV 16, HPV 18, and HPV 45 prevail in malignant tumors. The oncoproteins encoded by high-risk HPVs disturb cell cycle control and lead to genetic instability of the persistently infected cells. This enhances the risk of mutations in the viral and cellular genome, which may drive tumor progression.
