摘要

Trail-error is an usual method to simulate water-surface profile of natural channels. Based on the trail-error method, a varied increment iteration is presented to improve the computation of water-surface profile. Optimized coefficient λ is about from 0.2 to 0.5 according to the relationship between coefficient X and runtime. An example shows that the new method improves the numerical computation efficiency. Considering the same conditions, the method can get the solution by only 600 steps, while the ordinary method spends about 70000 steps. This new method is convenient to simulate water-surface profile of natural and artificial channel.
