摘要

A three component hybrid water purification system containing beta-cyclodextrins (beta-CD) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) dispersed on nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes (N-CNTs) is reported. The polymer nanocomposite system was prepared under microwave irradiation in an industrial microwave for the first time. Polymerization of the N-CNTs with beta-CD using hexamethylene diisocyanate as linker could be achieved within 5 min of microwave irradiation while stirring in a nitrogen atmosphere. The same reaction takes between 16-24 h under conventional refluxing in a round bottom flask, as confirmed by infrared spectroscopy. The N-CNTs with a surface area of 52 m(2)/g and 2.5% nitrogen doping level provided a good support and dispersion of the Ag NPs and improved the stability of the polymer nanocomposites. The polymers could be used repeatedly without any leaching and degradation of the components. The physical texture, microstructure and surface area of the nanocomposites synthesized in the microwave were improved significantly. The microwave irradiation method was found to be a quick and efficient way to produce the polymer nanocomposites.
