摘要

In the present work, hybrid modeling and simulation of multidimensional processes for a diesel particulate filter (DPF) are developed. The flow and temperature fields of representative channels are obtained by solving conservation of mass, momentum, and energy equations together with a spherical unit collector filtration model. 3-D Navier-Stokes equations are simplified to a set of 1-D conservation equations by employing order-of-magnitude analysis and an integral method. They are then solved by combining the shooting method and the Runge-Kutta method. The 3-D flow field is recovered by the 1-D solution and parabolic velocity profile. 3-D transient conservation of energy is solved using a modified alternating-direction implicit method. The model is validated by comparing numerical model results with analytical, numerical, and experimental results in the literature. The effects of particulate loading on temperature and temperature gradient during regeneration, as well as parametric studies of the DPF during loading and regeneration, are carried out.
