A review of the genus Athrips Billberg (Lepidoptera, Gelechiidae) in China

22 species of the genus Athrips are recorded for China. Athrips neimongolica sp. n. (China: Inner Mongolia), A. maculata sp. n. (SE Kazakhstan; China: Gansu Province), A. huangshana sp. n. (China: Anhui Province), A. ravida sp. n. (China: Ningxia Huizu Autonomous Region), A. montana sp. n. (China: Gansu Province), A. nigristriata sp. n. (China: Ningxia Huizu Autonomous Region) and A. gansuensis sp. n. (China: Gansu Province) are described as new. Athrips nigricostella (Duponchel, 1842), A. tetrapunctella (Thunberg, 1794) A. kerzhneri Piskunov, 1990, A. peteri Bidzilya, 2005, A. polymaculella Park, 199 1, A. sibirica Bidzilya, 2005 and A. patockai (Povolny, 1979) are recorded for the first time for China. Photographs of the adults and the genitalia of the new species are provided, along with notes on host plants, biology and distribution.
