摘要

Metamaterial shrinking device is a fascinating device of longstanding interest, which can convert an arbitrary object virtually into a small-size object as one desires. To accelerate its practical realization, a simplified shrinking device with only axial parameter varying with radius is proposed through choosing appropriate spatial transformation. The advantages of such a device are that radial and azimuthal parameters are constants, and these parameters have finite and positive values. The full-wave simulation confirms the good performance of the device. Besides, the effects of material loss and parameter deviation on the performance of the device are also investigated. This work provides a new and feasible solution to push the shrinking device more closely to the practice.
