Absence of subcritical instabilities and global nonlinear stability for porous ternary diffusive-convective fluid mixtures

Porous convection in horizontal layers, heated from below and salted from above and below, is studied. In closed forms, conditions necessary and sufficient for the linear stability of the thermal conduction solution-guaranteeing also the global nonlinear L-2-energy stability-are obtained.
