New polyester matrices with reduced flammability for the production of the innovative pipe-lines

A corn. unsatd. polyester resin was modified by addn. of optionally montmorillonite-modified melamine polyphosphate, reinforced with glass roving, formed as pipe specimens, cured and studied for inflammability in a cone calorimeter (50 kW/m(2)). The samples showed decreasing inflammability (class B).
