摘要

The uranium(III) mixed sandwich complex [U(eta(5)-C5Me5)(eta(8)-C8H6((SiPr3)-Pr-i)(2)-1,4)(THF)] reacts with white phosphorus to afford dimeric [U(eta(5)-C5Me4H)(eta(8)-C8H6((SiPr3)-Pr-i)(2)-1,4)](2)(mu-eta(2):eta P-2-(4)), whose X-ray structure reveals a novel eta(2), eta(2) bonding mode for the bridging P-4 unit. DFT computational studies confirm that the P-4 ring is doubly reduced and show interaction of the uranium atoms with both a sigma and a pi orbital of the P-4 ring.
