摘要

The adsorption configurations of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) molecules on platinum-modified Ge(001) have been studied using scanning tunneling microscopy. After deposition at room temperature and cooling down to 77 K the CuPc molecules are still dynamic. However, after annealing at 550 perpendicular to 50 K, the adsorption configurations of the CuPc molecules change and the CuPc molecules do not exhibit any dynamics at 77 K. This is indicative of a transition from a physisorbed to a chemisorbed state. We suggest that during annealing, the CuPc molecule binds with the substrate dimers via a cycloaddition reaction. Atomic models are proposed for the different adsorption configurations.
