摘要

Narrow-dispersion or monodisperse poly-(glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (poly-(GMA-co-EGDMA)) microspheres with stable and smooth surface and particle size in the range of 1.1 similar to 3.2 mu m were prepared by precipitation polymerization in neat acetonitrile in the absence of an), stabilizer and with 2, 2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. The comonomer feed ratio has much effect on the morphology and the size of the resultant polymer particles. As the EGDMA content increased from 20 mol % to 90 mol%, the yield increased from 5.5% to 81.3 %, while the particle size had a tendency to decrease with the EGDMA content. The SEM images indicated that the monodisperse microspheres were obtained with EGDMA fraction in comonomer loading from 40 mol% to 70 mol%. The FT-IR spectrum showed the characteristic peaks at 1725 similar to 908 cm(-1) assigned to the confirmation of the polymerization between GMA and EGDMA.
