摘要

Diet therapy in view of allergies to basic foods in infancy and childhood Food allergy often manifests in early infancy with milk, egg, soy, wheat and peanut being common causative foods. Many parents falsely believe, that their child is allergic to food and follow unnecessarily restrictive diets. The exclusion of basic foods which provide a major part of dietary supply carries the risk of malnutrition, particularly in children. After proven clinical relevance, a diet therapy is indicated. This requires individual instructions for targeted elimination and close supervision to guarantee appropriate feeding. As many children outgrow their food allergy, oral food challenges should be repeated regularly after avoidance.
