摘要
Acetogenins from the Annonaceae family are a group of secondary metabolites, which are considered the most potent group of mitochondrial complex I inhibitors. These molecules exhibit an antiproliferative effect on cancerous cell lines, including those with multiresistance to drugs; as such, they could be relevant in the development of new antineoplasic drugs. This paper presents a review of their knowledge, in particular about their in vitro and in vivo inhibitory activity and apoptosis induction in human tumor lines.
