An article is focused on evaluation and diagnostics of a patient with cognitive deficit and dementia. Mild cognitive impairment is characterized and a brief review of the most common types of neurodegenerative dementias is provided: Alzheimer's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies/Parkinson's disease dementia, frontotemporal lobar degeneration and Huntington's disease.
