摘要

The present study reports the effect of application of nano-Zn oxide on chemical composition and anti-inflammatory properties of Trachyspermum ammi Sprague essential oil and its main compounds. The essential oil was obtained from the seeds of the plant by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC/MS. The oil was predominantly composed of gamma-terpinene (33.14%). Regarding the anti-inflammatory activity the oil exhibited a potent nitric oxide scavenging effect and inhibited the expression of inducible NO synthase. These results indicate that essential oil Trachyspermum ammi and its main compounds might be applicable in natural medicine as well as healthy food.
