The synthesis, characterization and photoluminescent properties of a dinuclear Ir complex with a mu-eta(1):eta(2)-phenylquinolyl bridge and an end-on dinitrogen ligand are reported herein. DFT studies on its electronic structure and photophysical properties are also presented.
