An Agent-based Simulation of Supply Distribution Management

Facing the highly competitive markets and constant pressure to reduce cost, enterprises today consider supply chain management to be the key area where optimizations can significantly affect the whole chain. While, supply and distribution are two factors impact on supply chain management's effect. How to make decision on their control policies has becoming more and more important. In this paper, we propose an agent-based simulation system for modeling, monitoring and management of supply distribution. The simulation system integrates the various elements of the supply distribution such as suppliers, distribution centers, retailers and customers in an interaction, intelligent and agent-based fashion. And we implement it in Swarm at last. The simulation system helps to analyze the different inventory control policies with respect to optimize the supply distribution in the supply chain management.
