摘要

The spontaneous emission of a light source can be modified by tailoring its local density of optical states. Indeed, this concept has been commonly utilized to enhance the spontaneous emission of III-V self-assembled quantum dots (SAQDs) at low temperature using high-quality dielectric cavities. Unfortunately, such dielectric cavities cannot be successfully applied to spectrally broad light sources, for example, II-VI SAQDs emitting at elevated temperature. To address this issue, here we utilized a hybrid metal-dielectric antenna with broad coupling bandwidth as an alternative to enhance the spontaneous emission of II-VI CdSe SAQDs operating at room temperature. Upon coupling, the photoluminescence (PL) intensity for all spectral ranges can be enhanced accompanied with PL lifetime shortening. By analyzing our experimental data, we found that the radiative decay rates can be enhanced while keeping nonradiative process less affected, leading to overall PL enhancement.
