Improving the energy efficiency of the refrigeration system is an important field to be studied. Based on the theory of exergy, the possible efficiency to be improved of the refrigeration system using the high pressure refrigerant was analyzed. For the refrigeration system using NH3, the possibility would be 60%. According to this, the change of the energy consumed by the compressor of a refrigeration system using the high pressure refrigerant was discussed, and the concept of the critical coefficient of gas bleed was given up. By calculating, the optimum coefficient of gas bleed was 2.22% in the system using NH3, and the critical coefficient of gas bleed decreases with the increasing of the evaporating temperature without relations with the condensing temperature.
