A Cadmium Coordination Polymer with a (4,6)-Connected 3D Network: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Luminescent Properties

A 3D coordination polymer [Cd3(btrc)2(L1)2]n (1) [H3btrc = 1, 2, 4-benzenetricarboxylic acid; L1 = 1, 4-bis(1-imidazolyl)butane] was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction study revealed that polymer 1 presents an unusual example of a trinodal (4, 6)-connected net with (44 center dot 62)(44 center dot 610 center dot 8) fsc topology. In addition, this polymer was investigated by IR and luminescence spectroscopy, as well as thermogravimetric analyses.
