摘要

A numerical study of the performance of a solar chimney power system using the Navier-Stokes and energy equations was carried out. The results show that the simulated temperature field and flow field are basically in agreement with the measurements. As analysed from the temperature field, the airflow temperature basically increases from the opening to the collector centre since that airflow is gradually heated when driven by a solar chimney. However, the maximum of the mean temperatures along a collector radius is usually at a distance of 0.5 to 3.5 m away from the collector centre. As analysed from the flow field, air beside the ground flows vertically to the roof, and turns to the centre. Also, the circumfluence exists next to the collector roof. Further numerical study was devoted to analyse the effects of the component parameters on the power output of the power system by calculating the chimney inlet airflow velocity. The study could optimise the dimension of the system considering the costs as well as the climate and geographic conditions at a special construction site.
