摘要

We examined three sympatric gobies (Acentrogobius sp. A, Acentrogobius sp. B, and Acentrogobius sp. C) that were recognized as a single species %26quot;Acentrogobius pflaumii%26quot; until recently. Our aims were to describe their geographic distribution patterns and clarify their habitat use across the Japanese archipelago. Exhaustive specimen sampling revealed that their distributions overlapped broadly, although the distributional range of Acentrogobius sp. A was somewhat more southerly than those of the other two species, and only Acentrogobius sp. A was found in the Ryukyu archipelago. The species showed significant differences in two environmental factors (water depth and salinity) measured at the collection sites.
