摘要

Signal acquisition of Global Positioning System (GPS) is a search process which is used for the detection of satellite signals and providing initial conditions for the tracking program. The conventional two-dimension-search acquisition method finds the frequency and C/A code phase of the satellite simultaneously, and takes advantage of the correlation character of C/A code to complete acquisition. In addition, further accurate frequency estimation is needed because the frequency resolution of the conventional acquisition algorithm is too low to satisfy the requirement of the tracking loop. A new GPS acquisition algorithm, which not only changes the GPS acquisition process to the parameter estimation problem but also estimates signal frequency with Doppler and code phase in turn, is presented in this paper. It can be shown from the simulation results that without affecting the acquisition results, the computation complexity of new algorithm has been obviously decreased compared with the conventional algorithm.
