摘要

A virus isolated from cocksfoot Dactylis glomerata had the host range, symptoms, and morphology described earlier for the cocksfoot mottle virus (CfMV). The complete 4083-nt sequence of its genomic RNA was determined (GeneBank LA0905) and found to be most similar to that of the recently studied Norwegian CfMV isolate; thus the new virus could be regarded as a Russian strain of CfMV. Four long ORFs encode proteins of 12, 61, 56, and 28K (5' to 3'). At the termini there are untranslated regions of 69 (5') and 228 nt (3'). Analysis of the amino acid sequence of 28K revealed high similarity with sobemovirus coat proteins. Significant similarity was also observed for putative RNA-dependent RNA polymerase and protease; however, the arrangement and the expression mode of the corresponding genes were analogous to those of luteoviruses. The 5' end of subgenomic RNA was mapped; this region contained the structural motif typical of all sobemoviruses.
