Oxazaborolidinone-catalyzed alkylative ring-opening reaction of cyclic anhydrides with methallylstannane

In the presence of oxazaborolidinones (0.3 equiv), cyclic anhydrides undergo ring-opening reactions with tributylmethallyistannane to give 3-methylbut-3-enoyl-carboxylic acids, which are converted to the corresponding acetyl-carboxylic acids upon treatment with aqueous base.
