摘要

Acroloxus egirdirensis, a new species (Pulmonata: Hygrophila: Acroloxidae) is described based on material collected in the littoral zone of Lake Eirdir, Turkey. The limpet has been found only at the type locality. The shell morphology and body shape of A. egirdirensis are similar to the widespread A. lacustris (Linnaeus, 1758), A. oblongus (Lightfoot, 1786) and A. shadini Kruglov et Starobogatov, 1991. Compared to the first two species, A. egirdirensis has a higher teleoconch, the nuclei in the pigment cells of the mantle are large, and the preputium length is almost identical to that of the penis sheath. The new species differs from A. shadini in the shape of the left shell slope. The shell apex in A. egirdirensis is closer to the posterior apertural edge than in any other European species.
