摘要

The high voltage direct current transmission system based on voltage source converter (VSC-HVDC) has advantages in that power can be controlled independently, power can be supplied to passive load and power fluctuations from the renewable energy field can be suppressed. This paper developed a prototype of VSC-HVDC system with back to back structure, in witch the parameters and control strategies of the voltage source converter (VSC) were designed based on the system's principle, the hierarchical structure was designed with layers of control objectives and power control functions. The operation characteristics of the prototype were tested on the conditions of grid connection and power supply to passive load. The results show that the prototype has abilities of supplying power to passive load, and the power can be controlled independently and inversely when system is connected to grid, meanwhile, the correctness of the prototype designing is validated by dynamic performance and stable operation.
