New members in the [Mn-10] supertetrahedron family

摘要

Two manganese complexes, [Mn (4Mn6Cl4)-Mn-II-Cl-II(CH3OCH2CH2O)(12) O-4][(Mn3TiCl6)-Ti-II-Cl-IV(CH3OCH2CH2O)(6)] (1) and [(Mn4Mn6Cl4)-Mn-II-Cl-III(CH3OCH2CH2O)(12)O-4] [Mn-4(II) Cl-10(CH3OCH2CH2OH)(4)]center dot 0.5CH(3)OCH(2)CH(2)OH, (2) have been obtained and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both structures consist of the decametallic dicationic [Mn-4(II) (Mn6Cl4)-Cl-III(CH3OCH2CH2O)(12)O-4](2+) core constructed by four vertex-sharing [Mn(III)3Mn(II)O](9+) tetrahedra. Also, these compounds contain the different tetrametallic dianions: [(Mn3TiCl6)-Ti-II-Cl-IV(CH3OCH2CH2O)(6)](2-) (in complex 1) and [(Mn4Cl10)-Cl-II (CH3OCH2CH2OH)(4)](2-) (in complex 2). Magnetic dc and ac susceptibility measurements for compound (1) show that the dicationic decanuclear magnetic cluster possesses an S = 12 +/- 1 spin ground-state.
