Site-selective Suzuki-Miyaura reactions of 2,3,5-tribromo-N-methylpyrrole afforded 5-aryl-2,3-dibromo-N-methylpyrroles. These products were transformed into 2,5,6-trisubstituted N-methylindoles by twofold Heck reactions and subsequent 6 pi-electrocyclization- dehydrogenation reactions.
