摘要
The development of the Institute of hydraulic engineering and its hydraulic laboratory at the then Technical University Berlin has significantly profited from the presence of Prof. Ludin. He headed this institution during more than 20 years until the end of World War II. This historical study presents the laboratory mentioned in the light of present techniques, and sheds particularly light on the professional career of Ludin on the other, with a view on his numerous publications in hydraulics, water resources, and hydraulic engineering. His main PhD students are also shortly presented, and his bibliography is reviewed. Finally, the life at TH Berlin between the two Wars is described.
