摘要

A new disk-type of piezoelectric drill is presented and its principle and technique of manufacture are studied. When excitation voltage is applied on piezoelectric ceramics, the basic structure of the drill will produce two bending vibration, these two vibrations with a certain phase difference will be composed to form the circular motion of the drill bit. This will provide power for cutting or drilling. The finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to design the structure of the piezoelectric drill and the working frequency can be found. A prototype is manufactured according to the simulation, experiment results show that the working frequency of the drill is 40 kHz, namely the cutting motion can reach 2400000 times/min and the cutting amplitude can be limited at micro-size. When the general dental drill is used on the prototype, it can present cutting and drilling on tooth, hardboard, aluminum plate, steel plate and so on.
